South African student Ansuria Moodley- who is currently trapped in Ukraine, is desperately trying to flee the conflict in the country.

Following Russia’s all-out invasion of Ukraine by land, air, and sea- foreigners have been urged to flee the country and get to a neighbouring state.

So far, Poland has set up nine reception points for Ukrainians crossing the border where they can receive food, medical assistance, and information.

But Moodley, who studies medicine in Dnipro, is trying to get to the border and is battling to get a train out of war-torn Ukraine.

“I find myself like others, stuck in this country, very far away from my family. I live here in this block of buildings, a lot of students live here. So, we are trying to keep each other going and safe. This is a beautiful country; I would have liked to show you (the country) during the summertime, even the wintertime. Speaking to the people on the roads it is very hard not to be emotional because of what is happening. I know how this place was in the beginning and what it is now and I don’t think it will ever be the same for students to come in the future. “

South African student Ansuria Moodley explains the situation in Ukraine:

The UN Security Council is expected to convene an urgent meeting later today when the member countries are expected to vote on a resolution that calls for the withdrawal of the Russian troops from Ukraine.

Delivering the keynote address at the Intergovernmental National Litigation Forum meeting in Pretoria, Ramaphosa reiterated that the conflict could be resolved through mediation:
