Maintaining their world number one ranking will be a top priority for South Africa’s national rugby team as they begin their title defence of the Rugby Championship.
The Springboks kick off their campaign against Argentina’s Los Pumas at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Gqeberha on Saturday evening.
Skipper, Siya Kolisi says the team’s goal is to maintain their number one spot.
“We don’t want to be a once-off win and disappear. The biggest way to challenge that is what we’re doing with our unions. The stuff that people are doing, the work that you don’t see that coach Stokke looks at and send you video clips and that’s how we are maintaining not being comfortable anymore,” says Kolisi.
