South African scientists have turned to cloning to save some plant species from extinction.
Experts say more than 600 plants and trees globally have become extinct in the last 120 years.
Forty of these species are found in the Western Cape. Researchers at Stellenbosch University are leading efforts to save some plants from disappearing forever.
