SA records 903 infections for second day in a row

South Africa has recorded 903 new coronavirus infections for a second day in a row.

The total number of COVID-19 cases now stands at 672 572.

There has been 81 new fatalities overnight, taking the death toll to 16 666. The Eastern Cape and the North West recorded 8 deaths respectively, Gauteng 28, the Northern Cape 10; 11 in KwaZulu-Natal, five in Limpopo and the Free State, and six in the Western Cape.

The country’s recovery rate remains at 90% with 606 520 South Africans having survived the disease.
