COVID-19 drive-through vaccination site

Meanwhile, people can now receive their COVID-19 vaccine doses while sitting in their vehicles at the Western Cape’s COVID-19 drive-through vaccination site at the Athlone Stadium.

Cyclists are also welcome to receive their vaccines at the drive-through site.

Around one thousand vaccine doses can be administered at the drive-through site per day once it reaches full capacity.

This is what some of the people who received their vaccines at the site had to say:

“I would say I recommend it to everyone that is scared of buildings or being inside closed areas and I think it’s probably best for everyone to do it as soon as possible so we can have a good festive,” says one person who was at the vaccine site.

“So you in the comfort of your own car and the experience was much safer.”

“I think it was very well planned. Everything went smoothly, it was quick, much quicker than I thought it would be, but overall, quite impressed.”
