SA records 22 910 COVID-19 cases, 460 new deaths

South Africa has recorded 22 910 new COVID-19 cases, taking the accumulative number of infections to 2 090 909.

Gauteng again recorded the majority of cases with 11 747 new infections.

The country’s positivity rate has climbed to 30.4% while the total number of recoveries now stand at 1 862 900, which translate 87.2%.

More than 450 people have succumbed to COVID-19-related complications according to the latest report from the NICD. The death toll has risen to 63 499.
