The country has also recorded 72 new COVID-19 related fatalities on Monday. This brings the total number of deaths to 55 874.
In a statement, Health Minister Dr Zweli Mkhize says most of the new deaths were recorded in the Free State.
“Regrettably, we report 72 more COVID-19 related deaths: Eastern Cape 6, Free State 21, Gauteng 7, Kwa-Zulu Natal 0, Limpopo 13, Mpumalanga 6, North West 0, Northern Cape 6 and Western Cape 13,” says Dr Mkhize.
Recoveries stand at 1 541 250.
The cumulative number of tests conducted to date is 11 378 282.
