The National Institute for Communicable Diseases (NICD) says South Africa has recorded 17 489 new coronavirus infections in the past 24-hour cycle, which represents a 31.0% positivity rate. Taking the total number of cases to 2 236 805.
453 more people have succumbed to COVID-19 related complications. This puts the national death toll at 65 595.
