SA records 12 537 new COVID-19 cases

The National Institute for Communicable Diseases (NICD) says South Africa has recorded 12 537 new coronavirus infections in the past 24-hour cycle, which represents a 24.2% positivity rate. Taking the total number of cases to 2 219 316.

The national death toll is at 65 142 with 633 more people who have succumbed to COVID-19 related complications.
