South Africa has recorded 11 552 New coronavirus (COVID-19) cases in the past 24-hours, bringing the total number of cases to 994 911.
The country has also recorded 245 new COVID-19 related fatalities, pushing the death toll to 26 521
In a statement, Health Minister Dr Zweli Mkhize says most of the new deaths were recorded in the Eastern Cape.
“Regrettably, today we report 245 more COVID-19 related deaths: Eastern Cape 118, Gauteng 12, KwaZulu-Natal 57, Mpumalanga 3 and Western Cape 55. This brings the total to 26 521.”
Recoveries now stand at 839 194.
