The National Institute for Communicable Diseases (NICD) says South Africa has recorded 11 182 new coronavirus infections in the past 24-hour cycle, which represents a 31.4% positivity rate. Taking the total number of cases to 2 206 781.
220 more people have succumbed to COVID-19 related complications.
This puts the national death toll at 64 509.
