South Africa has recorded 10 510 new coronavirus (COVID-19) cases, representing a positivity rate of 20.5% and bringing the country’s total cases to 1 796 589. Gauteng accounts for most of the cases provincially, having recorded a total of 536 848 of cases.
More South Africans have also succumbed to the disease with 118 more fatalities recorded, brining the country’s total death toll to 58 441.
The Western Cape province accounts for most of the COVID-19-related deaths, having recorded 12 027 fatalities so far.

The country has conducted 12 044 072 tests to date, with 51 301 tests conducted in the last 24-hour cycle.
Recoveries stand at 1 632 182, translating to a recovery rate of 90.8%.
