The South African (SA) Men of the Year Awards is set to take place at Big Top Arena Carnival on Thursday evening.
The event is aimed at encouraging men to be active participants in the process of Nation Building and the protection of women and children.
SA Men of the Year Awards is an initiative of the Department of Social Developments’ Men’s Forum, in partnership with other men’s organisations in the country.
The process involves mentoring men towards character building, career excellence, gender re-education and behavioural change. Finalists and nominees all become Ambassadors of the Awards in their communities and continue implementing and spreading its values.
Chairperson of the SA Men’s Forum, Bongane Ngomane says, “The awards are very important and strategic for the country because they seek to spark a public dialogue about what makes one a good man and a positive role model.”
