South Africa are still in a commanding position in the first cricket test against the West Indies in Saint Lucia.

The Proteas who resumed their first innings on 128 for the loss of four wickets on day two, a lead of 31 runs, posted 322.

That was in reply to the Windies’ first innings total of 97 all out.

Quinton de Kock, who was burdened by the captaincy and subsequently lost form, was the star of the show in South Africa’s innings.

He scored an unbeaten 141 off just 170 deliveries, hitting 12 fours and seven sixes.

The visitors then restricted their hosts to 82 for four in their second innings, with Kagiso Rabada and Anrich Nortje taking two wickets each.

The Windies still trail by 143 runs and a big win looms for the Proteas.
