The latest findings by the World Economic Forum (WEF) has shown that South Africa has the worst labour-employee relations in the world, ranking 137 out of 137 countries.

The findings are backed by the Support of Trade Unions.

The efficiency of a country’s labour market is directly linked to Gross Domestic Product (GDP) long-term growth, overall prosperity and competitiveness on a global scale.

Partner at global law firm, Hogan Lovell Incorporated, Osborne Molatudi says, “The problem we have in our country is us against them, this mentality bears a high risk for any potential investor and it’s up to that investor when he comes to this country to make sure he do away with it. The reason for us and them is your employer who wants to maximise profit and employees who want to preserve their jobs and get maximum out of that jobs.”
