SA COVID-19 recovery rate increases to 90%

The Health Ministry says in its latest data release shows that the recovery rate from coronavirus has increased to 90%.

It says this is one of the better recovery rates in the world.

The Ministry also added that another 1 268 people have tested positive for the coronavirus – bringing the total number of cases to 670 766.

Twenty-two more deaths have been recorded – taking the overall death toll from COVID-19 to 16 398.

The country has recently seen a 6% surge in cases, despite a decrease in infection rate on the continent.

This as authorities reiterate calls for the public to continue adhering to COVI-19 safety protocols.
