A South African-born, 14-year-old piano and guitar prodigy, Justin Lee-Schultz, will be the youngest musician to participate in the Standard Bank Jazz festival.

Lee Schultz is living in Los Angels, US. He says he started with music when he was just five-years-old.

In its 34th year, the festival will mostly comprise local artists due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

This year the festival will present a special jazz stage during the virtual National Arts Festival from the eighth to 31st of July.

Lee-Schultz says he was inspired by jazz icon, Gerald Albright.

“I started to listen to his music when I was about five and I have been a huge fan ever since. I’m really honoured that he got to be on my album and play with me at the Standard Bank Jazz Festival. Goals for the future is to make more music, just do what I love create and perform.”
