Entrepreneur Russell Simmons arrived in South Africa on Tuesday ahead of the two-day Liberty VUKA Knowledge Summit.
He is the co-founder of Def Jam Recordings and was one of the keynote speakers at the conference.
Simmons shared some insights into how he worked to turn a culture into a global force.
Simmons says that many people with great talent do not have enough courage and focus to reach their full potential because of the lack in their inner strength.
“I have written many books and all on the same subject, how to build inner strength and how to use that to become a good giver or a force in the world. When you are this giver then you will have success as a result, a good giver is a great getter, so I want to teach people to have enough faith that they can take their ideas and put them out in the world,” Simmons says.
