The governing body for rugby in the southern hemisphere, Sanzaar, has confirmed that the Rugby Championship would go ahead.

The remaining eight matches will all be played in Queensland, Australia, with the last four rounds taking place on successive weekends, starting on 12 September.

On that day, New Zealand will play Argentina, while the Springboks will take on the Wallabies in Gold Coast.

The changes were necessitated by the ongoing impact of the coronavirus pandemic and the tightening of travel restrictions and quarantine by various national and state governments.
