Several roads surrounding the Union Buildings in Pretoria will be closed on Friday and Saturday for the Presidential Inauguration.
The Park and Ride for members of the public will be at the Tshwane Events Centre, where shuttles will operate from 06h00.
Residents in streets affected by these closures will be asked to present their municipal accounts at traffic control points.
Normal bus routes and public transport routes will also be diverted. Buses will run between the Tshwane Events Centre on Stanza Bopape Street from 06h00 on Saturday and will transport members of the public to the Southern Lawns of the Union Buildings.
The aviation community will also be grounded over this time as temporary military air restrictions have been put in place for Saturday.
The Southern Lawns of the Union Buildings will only be able to accommodate 20 000 people.
Members of the public attending the inauguration are advised that the following items are forbidden at the event:
• Alcohol or drugs
• Firearms or weapons
• Bottles or cans.
