Some roads will be closed in Cape Town ahead of the Two Oceans Marathon.

The City of Cape Town has warned motorists of numerous road closures ahead of the Old Mutual Two Oceans Marathon taking place in the city this weekend.

The road closures will mainly affect traffic flow from the southern suburbs into the CBD. Road closures will begin at 3:30 am in Newlands on Saturday morning.

“The M3 Union Avenue, Princess Anne Avenue at 6:30 and followed by other road closures in Dory Walk in Sun Valley at 7. Chebec Crescent, Ou Kaapse Weg, Noordhoek Main road, Silvermine road as well as Hout Bay main road at 7:45, these will mostly stay in effect between 10am and 2pm,” says  Mayoral Committee Member for Safety Jean-Pierre Smith.
