Banyana Banyana striker Rhoda Mulaudzi is still eyeing more glory at an international level despite her local club Mamelodi Sundowns’ triumph in the maiden Caf Women’s Champions League.

The 32-year-old was speaking during a soccer kit and equipment handover in her village of Vuwani in Limpopo.

Ten women teams in the area were recipients of her generosity.

Christmas came early for the women football teams in Vuwani, where Mulaudzi hails from.

After a memorable year in which she guided Downs to continental success, the veteran forward thought the timing was perfect to give back to her community.

“If you don’t donate or give back where we started we are going to fail the next coming generations so we must keep pushing and give them hope because it’s possible with anyone. Who would have thought that me coming from this village I am going to Europe? Grassroots football teams in Vuwani have had to improvise to ensure that development continues despite the lack of resources.”

Mulaudzi’s success on the pitch has given hope to many children in her village. Her act of kindness is an added motivation to reach for their dreams.
