Reading Time: < 1 minute

The second group of South Africans, who were part of the 51 stranded in China over visa problems, have landed safely in the country.

They were recruited by an agency to go and teach English in China.

However, their passports were confiscated by Chinese authorities, after it was discovered that they had student visas instead of working visas.  The first group arrived home on Monday.

Two members of the group have to remain behind to help the Chinese authorities with their investigation.

Ndivhuyo Mabaya speaks for the International Relations Department. “We are very grateful that the second group is here this afternoon and the third group will be here tomorrow. All of them by tomorrow everybody will be here, forty-nine of them reunited with their families and enjoying the weekend here at home.”
