Ravele proud of Banyana Banyana, Proteas progress

Veteran female sports administrator Ntambi Ravele is proud of the progress made by the senior women’s national team in recent years. Banyana Banyana will compete at the FIFA World Cup in France for the first time.

They will be in Group B alongside Germany, Spain and China. They have also played in the 2012 London Olympics in England and 2016 Rio Olympics in Brazil.

Ravele is a former Premier Soccer League marketing chief. She is also proud of the netball senior women’s team. The Proteas will compete at the Netball World cup in Liverpool, England in July.

They are ranked fifth in the world behind Australia, New Zealand, England and Jamaica. Ravele, the former Netball SA President believes that they can come back with a medal.

Ravele initiated the SA Women and Sport Foundation, which acts as an advocacy for women in sports and also focus on women empowerment.

She is currently the chairperson of wheelchair tennis, and she is proud of women achievement in many sporting fields. – Report by Vincent Sitsula
