A prominent sports administrator accused of rape is expected to break his silence on the matter when he releases an official statement later on Wednesday.
Singer and former African National Congress (ANC) MP Jennifer Ferguson has accused the official of raping her in a Port Elizaberth hotel room more than 20-years ago.
Ferguson says she was inspired to come out about the ordeal by the #MeToo Campaign that encourages women to share their experiences of sexual abuse.
The sports administrator’s attorney, Mamudipu Mohlala-Mulaudzi says: “He denies all the allegations that have been levelled against him by miss Ferguson. He denies them in the strongest term and he will be making a press release during the course of today which is a media statement whereby he will lay out his version in relation to this matter.”
