Reading Time: < 1 minute

South Africa’s wheelchair title hopes, Donald Ramphadi and Kgotatso Montjane, have crashed out in the semi-finals of the Australian Open tennis tournament in Melbourne.

Dutch second seed Sam Schroeder beat Ramphadi 6-1, 6-1 in less than an hour.

Montjane also lost in straight sets to her doubles partner and second seed Yui Kamiji of Japan.

Montjane and Kamiji are, however, top seeds in the doubles competition and will be in action in the semi-finals later today.

Ramphadi and his doubles partner Guy Sasson of Argentina advanced to the men’s final after a semi-final walkover by their top-seeded opponents, Schroeder and Niels Vink.
