Ramaphosa’s big talk won’t stabilise SA economy: DA

Reading Time: < 1 minute

The Democratic Alliance (DA) says African National Congress (ANC) president Cyril Ramaphosa is at the helm of a party which lacks a solid plan of action.

The DA’s Phumzile van Damme says Ramaphosa has a silver tongue, but that his big talk will neither stabilise South Africa’s economy nor advance the much needed policies.

Van Damme also says it is important to remember that Ramaphosa defended Zuma on a number of occasions.

“The giant elephant in the room, of course, remains the fact that president Zuma and many of his close cronies remain in the Union buildings and in power in South Africa. We’re also very disappointed that Ramaphosa paid lip service to crucial issues facing South Africa including corruption, unemployment, the higher education crisis, the land issue. It is very clear that the ANC do not have clear and workable solutions to the problems that face South Africa.”
