Ramaphosa to embark on investment drive in Europe

President Cyril Ramaphosa is visiting France, Belgium and Switzerland on a mini tour of Europe. The intention is to increase foreign investment into South Africa with an important speech at the European Parliament and a summit with EU leaders.

President Ramaphosa’s speech to the European Parliament in Strasbourg is expected to centre around trade and investment cooperation with the EU remaining South Africa’s largest trading partner.

Following this the president heads to Brussels to meet the King of the Belgians and to hold a summit with the presidents of the European Union.

The last stop on his tour is Geneva Switzerland where President Ramaphosa will co-chair a commission at the International Labour Organisation looking at the future of work in the age of automation and technological advancements.
