President Cyril Ramaphosa will announce his cabinet this tonight.

President Cyril Ramaphosa has stressed that his much awaited cabinet will comprise of people with requisite skills and commitment to public services that will serve South Africa.

Ramaphosa is expected to announce his executive later this week.

After Ramaphosa’s inauguration on Saturday, the focus is now on who will be included in his executive.

Presidential aide Khusela Diko said the president will ensure his executive possesses the necessary skills.

Speculation is rife that the new cabinet will be reduced from 70 to 50 ministers and their deputies. However Ramaphosa is expected to give details on the reconfigured cabinet on the day of the announcement.

Ramaphosa’s office refuted earlier reported that he is likely to name his cabinet ministers on Monday.
