Reading Time: < 1 minute

ANC president, Cyril Ramaphosa has paid tribute to the late struggle leader, King Sabatha Dalindyebo at his grave at Bumbane Great Place, outside Mthatha.

King Sabatha died in exile in Zambia in 1986 and was unceremoniously buried by the leader of the old Transkei, Kaiser Matanzima. However, in 1989 Matanzima’s successor, General Bantu Holomisa gave him a dignified funeral.

Ramaphosa thanked the AbaThembu’s ancestors for spiritually ensuring a peaceful ANC elective conference where he was elected as president of the party.

Ramaphosa was given an ox and in return he handed over three cows to the Thembus. He is now currently meeting with the Royal family where the incarceration of King Dalindyebo is expected to be raised.
