President Cyril Ramaphosa and his Zambian counterpart Edgar Lungu concluded an emergency meeting in Durban to discuss the current developments in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Lungu is the current SADeC Chair of the Organ on Politics, Defence and Security Co-operation.
South Africa’s International Relations Minister, Lindiwe Sisulu, Defence Minister Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula and a Zambian delegation attended the meeting.

The DRC elections took place recently but the results have not yet been released. Voting in some parts of the country was cancelled due to security concerns and an ongoing Ebola epidemic.
