Newly-elected African Nationa Congress (ANC) president Cyril Ramaphosa has heaped praises on his main rival during the party’s presidential race Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma.
Ramaphosa garnered majority votes during a fierce leadership battle which culminated into the election of the new leadership at the weekend.
Dlamini-Zuma has however, managed to make it to the powerful National Executive Committee which is tasked with crafting policies and managing the affairs of the governing party.
In his speech Ramaphosa extended an olive branch to Dlamini-Zuma pledging to work with her to reconcile the warring factions.
“I wish to pay tribute to Cde Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma, who contested the position of President, for the manner in which she demonstrated commitment to our movement during the campaign. Together with the other candidates, we all pledge to work closely in pursuit of the objectives of our revolution,” says Ramaphosa.
