The Democratic Alliance’s (DA) chief whip John Steenhuisen has called on the party not to be deterred by the ascension of President Cyril Ramaphosa to office.
Steenhuizen was speaking to some two-thousand delegates at the party’s national elective congress currently under way in Pretoria.
He says they will continue to keep the President accountable through Parliament, as the country suffers from high unemployment and poverty.
“The president is so drunk on his cool aid that he and his cheer leaders pretend like he is some Cape crusader that has flown from planet Pluto to save South Africa when we know that he was at the heart of the mess over the past five years,” says Steenhuizen .
“He was number two to accused number one – joined at the head like KC&JOjO , Rolls and Royce, Mills and Boon and it is this sorry bunch that we hold accountable everyday. It’s our DA MPs that have been in the front line of keeping this ministers to account and exposing their misdeeds.” says Steenhuizen.
