Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa has urged the private sector to adopt and support Technical and Vocational Education and Training institutions (TVET) as a way to alleviate high unemployment among the youth.

Ramaphosa has called for greater private-public sector collaboration to reduce skills deficit and promote entrepreneurship.

“When industry and training institutions work in a collaborative manner our youth will be better prepared in a world that values competitiveness and experience. We need to improve our TVET sector which has been identified in the National Development Plan as vital to developing artisan skills needed by our economy,” says Ramaphosa.
