African National Congress (ANC) President Cyril Ramaphosa has called on churches to confront the ANC if it deviates from its core values.  He also urged the clergy to pray for the party to enable it to govern the country with integrity and humility.

Ramaphosa, accompanied by the party’s KwaZulu-Natal provincial chairperson Sihle Zikalala, was speaking during the Methodist Church‘s Easter service at KwaNzimakwe near Port Edward on the south coast.

Ramaphosa says the church must crack the whip on the ANC if it strays from its mandate.

“You should not stand back, you should point out the errors that we are making. You should point them out and we know that when you point them out you do it out of love so that we can correct where we are doing wrong.”
