Ramaphosa, Abe hold talks on G20 sidelines

President Cyril Ramaphosa held bilateral talks with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe on Saturday on the sidelines of the G20 summit in Osaka.

Ramaphosa and Abe discussed economic cooperation between South Africa and Japan, on the second day of the G20 summit.

Leaders at the G20 Summit will discuss issues regarding the global economy, trade and investment, innovation, environment and energy, employment, women’s empowerment, development and health.

The summit will be President Ramaphosa’s first international engagement since his inauguration in May 2019 and since the reconfiguration of the National Executive.

The President is accompanied by Minister of Finance Tito Mboweni, Minister of International Relations and Cooperation Naledi Pandor, Minister of Trade and Industry Ebrahim Patel and the Minister of Health Zweli Mkhize.
