Proteas fast bowler Kagiso Rabada says he expects newly appointed Proteas interim Team Director Enoch Nkwe to translate his passion and professionalism from the Gauteng Lions to the national setup.

Rabada, who has worked with Nkwe from U19 level, believes that he is ready for the challenge, and is looking forward to seeing him do well with the national team.

The Proteas are currently in camp at the Cricket South Africa (CSA) Centre of Excellence in Pretoria with a new-look training squad for their three T20’s and three Test matches.

Rabada, who has also returned from some much needed rest, says he is pleased to see the likes of Lungi Ngidi and Anrich Norkjie back.

Following untimely retirements from the likes of Hashim Amla and Dale Steyn, Rabada lauded Steyn for his contribution to SA cricket throughout his career.

Regarding Amla and Steyn departures, he says it is time for youngsters to step-up and fill the void. – Report by Thando Gqamane
