A moment of silence will be observed at every top level soccer match in South Africa in honour of Winnie Madikizela-Mandela.
The remembrance will be held from Tuesday’s games until after her funeral next week.
The PSL paid tribute to Winnie Madikizela-Mandela on their official Twitter account Tuesday morning, describing her as a “true pillar of the struggle, and a person who sacrificed so much in the fight against apartheid and the struggle of the mind.”
A moment of silence will be held before all Premier Soccer League (PSL), National First Division and Multichoice Diski Shield matches.
The PSL resumes with two matches scheduled following the week long international break.
