A group of protesters calling themselves Concerned Mangaung Residents have forced their way into the Dr Rantlai Molemela stadium in Bloemfontein where the main Freedom Day event is being held.

They’re complaining about alleged nepotism and corruption at the Mangaung Metro municipality.

The group say they came to stadium to complain to President Cyril Ramaphosa about their plight because Metro officials do not listen to them.

The president is expected to give the keynote address later Friday.

The group’s leader, Refiliwe Banyane says: “Our concerns as Mangaung residents is we need permanent jobs. We don’t want Expanded Public Work Programmes(EPWP). These project come and go they are not sustainable.”

“We can’t make a living out of them, we need permanent thing.”
