A 34-year-old Kroonstad Correctional Services official has been arrested for being in possession of drugs, cash and an illegal firearm.
This comes after police raided his single quarters room at the Correctional Services premises in Kroonstad.
It is alleged that during the raid police found a revolver, 17 mandrax tablets and more than R27 000 cash in his possession.
All items were confiscated. The official is expected to appear in the local magistrate’s court soon.
