Prince Charles calls for concrete deal at COP 17

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Britain’s Prince Charles says something concrete must be agreed upon at COP 17, the United Nations conference on climate change, to be held Durban later this month. He said this during a comprehensive lecture on the impact of global warming at the University of Cape Town this afternoon. While he delivered his speech, a number of students handed out pamphlets questioning the Prince’s credibility to speak on the issue. The students say Prince Charles actively promotes complimentary and alternative medicine despite the absence of scientific evidence to support it. The Prince’s wife Camilla was not present. Some of the dignitaries who attended the event, included Western Cape Premier Helen Zille and IFP leader Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi. Prince Charles is well-known for his love for nature.
He and his wife, the Duchess of Cornwall, are on an official five-day visit to South Africa.
