President Ramaphosa expected to bestow national orders to eminent persons

President Cyril Ramaphosa is expected to bestow various national orders in different categories to eminent persons.

Some of the orders will be bestowed posthumously.

The announcement was made in the government gazette that was published recently.

Some of the recipients will include a retired Judge, artists and a philanthropist who will be honoured within the next few weeks.

Some of the national orders that will be bestowed on persons include awards in the order of Mendi for bravery, Ikhamaga, Baobab, Luthuli and Companions of OR Tambo.

Retired Constitutional Court Justice Edwin Cameron will receive Gold in the order of Baobab.

The late Lady Smith Black Mambazo founder Joseph ‘Mshengu” Tshabalala will be honoured posthumously with Gold in the first category of Ikhamanaga.

The second category of Ikhamanga, Gospel Singer Rebecca Malope will receive silver. The same order will also be bestowed posthumously on the late boxer Arthur Mayisela.

The late Eastern Cape philanthropist and entrepreneur, Lora Mphalwa will be awarded silver in the order of Luthuli.
