The Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality has assured residents that it is doing everything possible to address the possible outbreak of listeriosis in the metro.
However, the outbreak source has still not been identified.
It comes after news of a possible outbreak of listeriosis surfaced on social media.
Nelson Mandela Bay’s Communications and Media Management Officer, Mthubanzi Mniki, says while the environmental health team is investigating all possible sources of the outbreak within the city, the contaminated source has not yet been identified.
Mniki says residents should remain calm.
