Police and Prisons Civil Rights Union (Popcru) says they have rejected the latest wage increase offer by the government. The Department of Public Service and Administration has offered public servants a 1.5%  wage increase.

“With regard to salary offer for public servent. As Popcru we felt insulted by the government. The offer that they are they are putting on the table, despite the fact that last year we did not get an increment, and we want to say we reject the offer that the government is giving us,” says Popcru President, Zizamele Cebekhulu.

“Yes we are active participants in going on with negotiations and finding solutions with regard to the matter,  but up to so far, we regret to say we don’t accept the offer,” Cebekhulu says.
