Politicians to attend Easter church services

Several politicians will attend church services nationwide this weekend in celebration of Easter.

This comes just over two weeks ahead of the May 7 elections.

President Jacob Zuma will address the Universal Church service in Johannesburg.

As head of state, President Zuma has wished all South Africans and the overwhelming majority of Christian worshipers in the country a successful and happy Easter weekend as they undertake their annual pilgrimage to various places across the country.

ANC Secretary General Gwede Mantashe will be in Midvaal and the party’s Treasurer General Zweli Mkhize will be in Rustenburg.

On Sunday, Deputy President Kgalema Motlanthe and DA Leader Helen Zille will attend the ZCC Easter Church service in Moria.

Also expected to attend is Mbhazima Shilowa who is also a church member.
