Political parties warned against exploiting the votes given to them

Reading Time: < 1 minute
Political parties have been warned against exploiting the vote given to them by South Africans in the May 8 elections. This is according to Cape-Town based Political Analyst Sanusha Naidoo.
She says that since citizens cannot control what a political party does with their vote, forming a coalition could potentially affect future support for that political party.
Smaller parties usually form coalitions with other parties which don’t share the same policies. Naidoo explains the importance of voters understanding the nature of politics and the value of their vote – before casting it next month.
