Law Enforcement Agencies have recovered two high calibre firearms that were used during cash-in-transit heist in Boksburg, east of Johannesburg last month.
The firearms were recovered in Volksrust in Mpumalanga.
The suspects have since been arrested and extra charges will be added to their case.
Johannesburg Metro Police spokesperson Wayne Minnaar says the JMPD and other law enforcement agencies had a joint operation over the weekend and made the find.
He says, “These high calibre weapons have been linked to the cash-in-transit heist. Seven suspects were arrested in connection with the cash in transit heist in Ekurhuleni. They also shot at the JMPD officers with these weapons.”
