A police officer has been shot dead and robbed of his firearm in Primrose near Germiston , east of Johannesburg.
It’s alleged that two vehicles were chasing each other when a minibus taxi stopped near the officer’s vehicle and someone inside it started to shoot at him.
Gauteng police spokesperson, Kay Makhubele, says no one has been arrested.
“A victim who was sitting with his girlfriend in a car saw two cars chasing each other. One was a taxi. The taxi stopped next to the officer who was shot several times and robbed of his firearm,” says Makhubele.
“So far we haven’t arrested anybody yet but we are investigating a case of murder and robbery and calling anyone with the information to call the police.” Makhubele says.
