A 42-year-old police Sergeant stationed at Vuwani police station outside Thohoyandou in Limpopo has allegedly shot dead his wife before turning the gun on himself at the couple’s home at Vyeboom Phalama village.

Police spokesperson Brigadier Motlafela Mojapelo says they received information about the shooting incident on Sunday in the afternoon.

He says when police arrived they found the two bodies lying in the house in a pool of blood.

Sergeant Walter Munyai was alone in the house when his wife, 28-year-old Ndivhuwo Munyai, arrived.

Soon after she entered the house shots were heard by neighbours.
