Police in Gqeberha, in the Eastern Cape, are tracing the whereabouts of a woman whose newborn baby’s body was found washed ashore on Brighton Beach on Friday.
Police Spokesperson, Priscilla Naidu says people cleaning the beach noticed a colourful blanket washed up on the beach. On further inspection, it was discovered the body of a newborn baby boy.
A black refuse bag containing more blankets and a placenta also washed up with the baby. Police have opened an inquest docket.
